In 1980 a child was born in a farmer’s family in a small village. When his name was written in the school, 5th of July 1983 was randomly chosen as no one was educated in the family. There were three brothers and a sister in his family. When his elder brother started going to school he started following his brother. He started each and everything that his brother did like eating, studying, playing etc.

Situations mold a person and convert into better versions. He grew by seeing the situation in the family. Like how his parents were busy with farming work. Many times he was witnessed by seeing his mother eating food while walking during going to farms to save time. Now, you can imagine how busy they were in their lives.

In these situations how a child can expect from his mother to wash his clothes, help in homework, prepare breakfast or favorite food or dish and take care of him like other moms do. This was not a complaint from his mother but it was an motivation to him to grow in his life. He was learning on every step how their parents were struggling for survival in their lives. So, he started doing all his work like washing his clothes, doing his homework and helping his parents whatever he can do for him.

The child was average in study but he was courageous, hardworking, focused and highly committed to do whatever he started to finish. During rainy seasons his village surrounded water as there was no way to go to school to another village. But he was such a determined child that he never missed his school even on rainy days. He put his uniform and books in a polythene and kept the polythene on his head and crossed the water to attend the school on foot 6 KMs on a daily basis.

When he reached 10th standard he still looked like a child as he was not a healthy one but he had the courage to go to the city for higher education. His parents were worried how he would manage alone. But he showed courage and decided and promised to his parents that he will manage each and everything alone. By seeing his confidence level and courage his brothers and his family members agreed on his decision.

There were no trends of PGs at that time and his brother went along with him and took a room on rent and helped him to settle the room and other required things for him. Finally, he started living alone in a city. After passing out 10th standard it was a big decision for him. Now, he started doing each and everything for him without the help of any other person. But he didn’t face any big challenges because he was used to all these things as at home most of the things he was already doing.

He chose the bio subjects for study in 11th standard and first time he started going to tuitions 3–4 subjects. He has to get up early in the morning preparing breakfast, lunch, washing clothes, going to school then for tuition in the evening. He hardly had time to relax and this was the cycle for everyday. But he has to become a doctor as per his family expectations and situations. Whenever he felt low he saw his family situations and got energy to move forward. A person who was born in a middle class family can easily relate to this story.

It was not an easy task to clear the competition without coaching to become a doctor. So, he had to drop his idea of becoming a doctor as the financial situations were not good.

Now, he was blank about what to do in his life. But for anyone who wants to do something in life there are various ways to do good things in life, not only single things. So, he decided to do BCA, a technical course suggested by one of his teachers. Without regretting he took admission in this course and started to study in the same city.

But there was a problem and the problem was, he was a Hindi medium student but the BCA course was only in English medium. He got back in all subjects in the first semester. Back in all subjects was the first time in his life and he felt I failed. He never hide anything from his family members so immediately he went to his village and told everything to his family members.

He was always transparent with his family members so all his family members believe and trust in him. His elder brother who was in higher education understood and gave him a hope that everything will be fine. Try once again. It happens. There were 4 four friends who were ready to give up as they were also back in all subjects. They all were more than happy if I gave up because it was easy to convince his family members to leave the course easily.

But he told his friends if you want to go, you can go but I will try once again. He not only cleared all the subjects of the next semester but also all the subjects of the previous one with good marks. All the friends not only cleared all the subjects but also completed the entire BCA course with him. He was a motivation for his friends all the time.

After completion of BCA again he was blank about what to do in his life. But life gives us opportunities on each and every corner. Sometimes we welcome and sometimes we do not. When he was confused about the scope of BCA and what to do in life, he connected with one of his friends who was already learning programming in Delhi.

He wanted to do a full time MCA course and appeared in the Jamia MCA entrance exam test. First time he came to Delhi to see his result of MCA entrance test in Jamia. Unfortunately, he was not selected. When he was returning to his village he called to his friend who was living in Delhi. He went there and met his friend. They both discussed their family conditions and situation as both were from middle class families and dropped the idea of full time MCA and sifted with him.

They both decided that now we will not take money for expenses from my families and decided that we will do M.Sc(cs) from correspondence. Without a computer it was not easy to learn programming and decided to do any part time job for survival and to purchase a computer. They both started a part time job from there they were getting only Rs. 2500 only. After three months they purchased a computer to learn programming.

After 2.5 months learning a PHP programming language he prepared his first resume on naukri.com a job portal and got a first call from 197 Communications which is known as Paytm in India. There were 10 questions in the interview questions paper and he solved 7 out of 10. He was learning PHP but he was not good at programming logical questions.

The HR talked with him very politely and said, you have not attempted a single programming question. If you do, I could give you an offer letter right away. That was not a failure to him, instead he took it in a positive way and started learning programming and solving logical problems.

He was not passed out from any reputed college like tier 1 or tier 2. He says that in the truest sense he never saw college life in real life because everything he did was from correspondence. But later on he faced a lot of challenges to get his first job. He says that he remembers each and everything how he moves forward in his life to get anything. That time there was no use of smartphones and the internet. He keenly awaited the Wednesday and Saturday for Times of India newspaper as there was a job column both the days. He writes down each and every vacancy and goes to the STD booth to call each and everyone one by one for a job in his broken English.

He was not passed out from a good institution so that he could get a placement. He struggles a lot each and every step but you know what. He practices the interviews so much that later on he easily cracks the interviews and starts switching the companies one by one for a little hike. That was a big mistake because without market knowledge and his market value he was switching the companies.

He realized that later on when he became a father of a son and that day there was only Rs100 in his pocket. That day he decided to switch into product based companies. He joined an ecommerce startup and worked there 3.5 years. There he learned all about how to write clean and good quality code. After 3.5 years he switched to another startup where he worked 7.5 years. He learned a lot of things not only how to write a scalable code but how to build a scalable software product. Single handedly he developed multiple products there. Slowly, he started handing out teams and started participating in leadership activities. Later on he became a senior director of the engineering team. Becoming a Senior Director of Engineering is a big thing for a son of a farmer who didn’t pass out from any tier 1 or tier 2 college and this is a dream of many people.

But life has plans for each and every one and one day he got a call from HR that today is your last working day. Actually, he was laid off from his job without a notice period. He felt bad not for why he was laid off but for the way he was laid off. If someone is working in an organization for a long time then suddenly he is laid off without talking.

Don’t you think it will hurt anyone. Especially when anyone contributed a lot for the organization. When we emotionally touch someone and this happens, it hurts a lot. He was disturbed 2–3 days but then he realized it’s a rule of corporate culture.

That was an indication of life that he can do better than that. Instead of sitting idle at home he started writing on Medium. Then he found a mentor and started learning many things about success, failure, happiness, gratitude, mentally toughness, how our mind works, passion and most importantly about relationships. One day he got an Idea from his mentor to write a book and that was one of his dreams of life.

He was laid off from the office so there was plenty of time to read and write. He decided his goal to complete the book within 6 months. He was a technical person so started writing a technical book. He left each and everything like going outside, watching netflix, even playing with kids to save money and time. The following was his schedule

By following the above schedule he was able to complete his book within 6 months. During this period he not only learned good habits but he was learning how to become a good character. That was the one of the best times of his life which he has given to him.

There was an incident in his life when his father went to his school without informing him. His father was a very simple man because his father was a farmer. Children laughed at him for his father’s style of living. When he reached home he scolded his father and not to come to his school to meet him again. He felt insulted among the children at school but at that time he was a child and there was no understanding that these were small things. No matter how your parents are looking and what they wear. Although his parents were not educated, they still know the importance of study and education. He remember the wise words of his father

“Study is a hard nut to crack but this is the gateway to becoming a good person.”

He studied hard and not only wrote a book but also became a best selling author on Amazon. The day when he launched his book he was very emotional at his childish activity mentioned above and felt proud of his parents.
