We are living in a digital era. Only businesses that are effectively using digital technologies are growing. People don’t believe in physical things these days. All they need is a single click from their smartphone, so how can you scale your business physically?
There was a time when we wrote letters to our loved ones. (I have written a lot of letters to my brother. Post cards, anterdeshia and lifafa etc.)
There was a time when we used STD booths to talk to someone.
There was a time when we wandered here and there to find the right way to reach our destination or asked different people until we reach the destination.
There was a time when we went shopping physically in market.
There was a time when we lined up in long queues to book bus, train, or flight tickets.
There was a time when we were afraid to go outside, worrying about where we would stay in a strange city to book a hotel.
…
…
…
And the list goes on.
Now think about these days. All of the above tasks can be done just with your mobile phone within 5–10 minutes.
Isn’t that true?
How is it possible?
Have you thought about it?
We are so used to technology that we are reluctant to go outside for a morning walk, instead opting to use technology-enabled instruments or machines at the gym. This is the power of technology, my friend.
Physical businesses are going to shut down very soon. This is the digital era, and only digital businesses are growing faster than physical businesses. If you are still willing to run a physical business offline, you can do so, but it’s very hard to scale a physical business. Only startups that use digital technologies effectively are growing. If you are running a physical business, you need to think about how to convert it into a digital business, my friend. Otherwise, it will be very hard to scale your business and survive.
